Another year has come and gone, and everywhere we look there are signs that winter is fast upon us. It has always amazed me how quickly a year will go by, especially in the last quarter as we prepare for cooler temperatures and holiday celebrations. It is a time for family gatherings, giving thanks, and celebrating our beliefs. A joyful time filled with laughter, memories of holidays past, and the sounds of silver bells and winter sales.
Dental teams can and should join in the sights and sounds of the season. A few pictures and/or videos on social media mixed with a special savings or discount right before the end of the year are perfect ways to engage existing patients and entice new patients into the practice. It is also the perfect way to ensure the perfect ending to what has hopefully been another successful year in your dental practice, and giving back to your community is always important.
“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”
–Winston Churchill
Possible suggestions include:
- Perhaps your team will volunteer at a local shelter serving food or delivering presents to those in need. Take pictures and share them via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
- Is the practice offering a “Use It or Lose It” program for those patients with dental benefits remaining for 2015? Sending an email blast to those patients is an excellent way to reach out to them one last time over the busy holidays.
- Have a dental version of the “Winter White Sale” and offer a discount on electric toothbrushes, water flossers and/or bleaching systems, or give a toothbrush away to one lucky patient who has had a dental visit within the month, once again promoting this event via social media and email.
Whatever your practice decides to do, make sure that it is well planned and shared with the entire community. Social media and email blasts are a great complement to the existing marketing plan and help ensure that your message is reaching a greater number of potential patients. Share the celebration this year with your patients, and make sure that they hear the festive sounds of silver bells and winter sales ringing from your practice!
