When we opened the Patterson Technology Center (PTC) in Effingham, Ill., late in 2011, we were excited about the possibilities. It opened new doors both for Patterson and the customers of all three of our business units. Now, we have a new reason to be excited.
The PTC has won the Don Erickson Presidential Award in the Association of Licensed Architects (ALA) 14th Annual Design Award Competition. The PTC is the premier technology development and contact center support facility in the markets served by Patterson Dental, Patterson Medical and Patterson Veterinary.
A panel of highly regarded architects selected the PTC after examining 90 entries to determine winners in eight categories. The PTC received the Silver Award in the ALA’s Commercial category, then was selected for the Don Erickson Presidential Award – the top award given to one project from the 32 winners of Merit, Silver and Gold design awards. The facility is featured on the cover of the Licensed Architect Winter issue at www.alatoday.org.
DLR Group designed the PTC, which was built to enhance the service and support we provide to our customers and truly reflects our position as a technology leader and innovator. Just as important as the recognition the PTC received is the importance we placed on meeting the highest green building standards and the PTC’s operational efficiencies when occupied.
Every day, we are proud of the seven departments at the PTC, our highly trained support staff, software developers and implementation experts, and all of the 325 employees who work there. Of course, the 30-foot-wide picture window at the main entrance isn’t all bad either.
