At the Children’s Smile Center in Ozark, Mo., Carrie Burke understands that the fundamentals of a successful business include happy employees who have the resources and support they need to do their job, plus happy customers who refer other customers.
It’s that understanding that makes Carrie such a great person to talk about the patient experience and the practice lifestyle. As the practice administrator for the Smile Center, Carrie is responsible for taking care of the staff, for instance making sure everyone has the proper tools and education to excel in their roles. It also means being a leader and setting a positive example.
The other half of Carrie’s job is to ensure that the kids and their caregivers have an amazing experience in a friendly and relaxed environment. She doesn’t always have the answers, but she isn’t afraid to ask for help. Carrie is an active member of the American Association of Dental Office Managers (she’ll be attending AADOM’s annual conference in September, if you want to meet her) and leans on her Patterson team for help with supplies, equipment and technology, and service and support.
